Fears over China’s involvement in Kiribati’s ditching of marine reserve

Alarming and worrying news coming out of Kiribati, where the Kiribati Government has decided to open up one of the world’s largest marine reserves to commercial fishing and de-register it as a World Heritage site. Former president Anote Tong, who helped create the marine park has expressed concern about the government’s plan.
