International climate models are going through their monthly refresh. Below is a few subplots showing a variety of models’ forecasts for the February to April 2019 period.
There is generally good agreement on drier than normal conditions for New Caledonia and to a lesser extent Vanuatu.
Fiji appears to be on a gradient, with wetter conditions favoured north/east and drier conditions south/west.
The SPCZ (South Pacific Convergence Zone) may be shifted slightly northeast of its climatological position.
